1) Is Pavones a good place to live?

The answer depends on your priorities. Pavones is still remote in many ways. The road gets better each year but we are still at the end of it and always will be. This is an attraction for some folks and those are the people who will be your neighbors. In my view living at the end of the road is just one more positive factor to add to the long list of great things about life here.

2) What about schools and medical care?

There are four primary schools for grades K-6 and in Rio Claro we have a pre-kinder also. High school is 25 minutes away in Conte and school bus service is provided. There is a government health clinic in Conte also. The nearest major hospitals are in Ciudad Neilly and Golfito.

3) Is it safe to buy untitled land?

Yes. Any land may be bought and sold safely and legally with nothing more than a bill of sale registered in a lawyer's protocol. All such documents are registered in the national archives. Based on those documents a legal title may be secured and registered in the public registry following a clearly outlined legal process called "informacion posesoria" which may take from 3-12 months to complete and is normally handled by an attorney.
